From 4 March 2015 Auckland will be transformed as the 19-day Auckland Arts Festival kicks off in an explosion of theatre, music, comedy, cabaret, dance and visual arts!

More than 100 world class shows and exhibitions from NZ and around the world will astound, entertain and delight audiences across the region.

International stars include Ninah Cherry, South African award winning director Brett Bailey’s “arresting and utterly original” opera, macbEth; the “astonishing vision” of acclaimed British choreographer and dancer Akram Khan’s iTMOi (in the mind of igor); the “highly physical, superhero” world of BLAM!; New York City’s acclaimed Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet; the “spectacular and inspiring” story of the father of Afrobeat, Fela Kuti, direct from Broadway, Fela! The Concert; and the best party between heaven and hell, the fiery circus cabaret LIMBO ….. and many more!

Along with independently produced and presented local talent from around the country, the Auckland Arts Festival will be co-producing and presenting works with a number of New Zealand artists and companies, including world premieres from new New Zealand, and work by Maori, Pacific and Asian artists.

The team at Schupepe Tents are excited to be involved with this event, and this week we’re busy building our small tented village on Aotea Square in preparation for the opening of the festival on March 4th 2015.
